10 High Performance Attitudes that Successful People Posses
1. They believe that their attitude is a choice.
2. They believe that their attitude will determine their entire approach to life.
3. Their attitude at the beginning of a task will effect its outcome more than anything else.
4. They believe that the higher you go in any organization of value, the better the attitude you will find.
5. They believe that you are where you are and what you are because of the dominating attitudes that occupy your mind. (We are what we think).
6. They believe that before we can achieve the kind of life we want, we must think, act, walk and talk like the person we wish to become.
7. They believe that attitude is the major difference between success and failure. Your attitude is your greatest asset or liability. You are only an attitude away from success or failure.
8. They believe that their attitude is their greatest asset in problem solving.
9. They believe that the attitude of the leader will become the attitude of the people.
10. They believe that their attitude, not their circumstances, give them fulfillment and success.
Here is what Dr. Charles Swindoll said about Attitude." The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say and do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company . . . a church . . . a family. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past . . . we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude . . . I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you . . . we are in charge of our Attitudes."
Whatever our circumstances maybe, whatever
situations
we maybe facing today, we can draw on the power of Christ for the
strength
to face them. We always have a choice, and that choice will always make
the difference between defeat and victory.
The attitude (faith) that David had towards the covenant of God with Israel was BIGGER in him than the words that Goliath was saying. The attitude (faith) about the prize was BIGGER in David's heart than the giant that was standing in front of him. David's attitude (faith) was BIGGER than the situation was, and the circumstance that he was in.
Read Numbers 13:25-33 - (The Story of The Children of Israel's Failure of Possessing the Promise Land).
We need to come to the place in our faith in God, and our attitude towards what He has said concerning the promises of His Word. We need to come to the place where the "milk and honey" is BIGGER than the giants. Where the "promises of God" are BIGGER than the fortified cities. Where "healing and divine health" is BIGGER in us than the symptoms of sickness and disease are in our bodies. Where "God's full supply and prosperity" is BIGGER than poverty and lack in our lives.
How do we get the right attitude for our faith in the promises of God in a given situation or circumstance?
1. Allow God's Word to become first place and final authority in your life.
Proverbs 4:20-23 - My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ears to my sayings. Do not let them (God's Word) depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all thier flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it springs the issues of life.
2. Begin to develop fellowship with the Father through an active prayer life.
Philippians 4:6, 7- Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The Amplified Bible says in verse 6 - Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer. . . with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
Notice what the Holy Spirit is saying here through Paul. In every circumstance pray. But notice with what kind of attitude. With thanksgiving. Our attitude in prayer to the Father should be one of gratitude.
3. Go to church. Get in a church, and submit yourself to a pastor who will help you in your relationship with God, as well as help you grow up spiritually. You will also find that in going to church, that fellowshipping with other people with the same spirit of faith can encourage you and build you up. You can find support from others, to help you keep the right attitude in the face of life's circumstances.
Hebrews 10:24, 25 - Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
So in order for us to have the right attitude in any given situation or circumstance we need 1) to keep looking to the Word of God, 2) begin to develop fellowship with God the Father through prayer, and 3) go to church, fellowship with other believers.
These are some positive ways to help keep your attitude soaring to new heights. Always remember, that your attitude will always determine your altitude in life. CLC
